Although we’ve still had little outbursts of rain, the appearance of the sun has felt so promising over the last week. And it’s actually been warm. Warm! Is summer actually on the horizon? Let’s hope so, I think we all need it. I think we need the positive vibes. That wonderful feeling of the sun’s rays shining down on our skin and giving us a big hug.
I hope you’ve all had a good week? I’d love for you to tell me a bit about your week in the comments at the bottom. Maybe your top three highlights?
Most of mine is actually focused around the weekend because my highlight was of course that it was my birthday on Friday! Rob and I both took the day off work to spend it together, we didn’t have anything that special planned but we wanted it to be a relaxing day. We went for a late brunch at The Breakfast Club, which was lovely. Funnily enough, we did the exact same thing on Rob’s birthday back in January!
Then we had a bit of a mooch around town, looking around some of North Laine’s gift shops and flea markets. It was nice to be able to take our time over doing this and not fight crowds like we would normally of a weekend.
It started to get a bit grey and grizzly so we then headed back home for a few hours and watched a few episodes of Orange is the New Black! And in the evening we headed back out again, having a few drinks at a couple of pubs before finally eating at La Choza. I loooove Mexican food. We both went for the pulled pork burrito, but I had a burrito bowl (served up in a bowl instead of a wrap). We also had a few cocktails, I tried a blood orange margarita which I did not expect to be as spicy as it was, sheesh! It was actually difficult to drink and I had to leave half of it. But it was such a lovely evening.
I tried to continue the relaxed vibe yesterday by going to a self care session run by the lovely Dionne and Ketil of Changing the Menu. I love these guys! It focused on gentle repetitive movement, including some yoga, breath work and meditation and a little journalling exercise. It was relaxing, therapeutic and lovely.
Afterwards I made the most of the self indulgence and continued into North Laine to visit a little coffee shop called Pelicano for lunch. I decided to try a sourdough sandwich as I’ve read many a time that people who have wheat intolerances can often tolerate it well – no reaction as yet so thumbs up!
Today I’m heading up to Northampton – it’s actually for some work I need to do in the week nearby but I’m also using it as an opportunity to catch up with some family too. Expect some photos to follow in next week’s round up!
