Thanks for coming to my blog! My name’s Amy and I live with my boyfriend in a little house near the sea in Brighton, Sussex. I’m a writer at a national charity by day and a lifestyle blogger by night. You can see examples of things I’ve written, aside from this blog of course, on my portfolio page.
I hate it when bloggers describe their blog as their ‘little corner of the internet’. So I’m not going to do that. This isn’t a corner. Hey it’s not even real! But this is somewhere I like to share my thoughts about life and about amazing food and my struggles with trying to stay fit despite hating exercise, a bit more food and the time when I was bullied by the neighbourhood cats.
I also talk about some of my worries and my struggles with migraine, enjoying yoga, my food intolerances and subsequent lactose-free and gluten-free diet, the time I joined the local roller derby team, loving trashy TV and how I’m constantly discovering new things Brighton.
I absolutely love Brighton. Still. I moved here in 2008 after moving around a fair bit (I’ve lived in Northamptonshire, Kent, Somerset and South Wales). I always knew I’d love it here, even before I set foot in the place. I just needed the excuse to move here! There’s always so much to do and loads of things going on. I’ll often stumble upon something by accident and that’s what I love about it: street parties, impromptu gigs, festivals, secret art, pop up shops and restaurants. It combines the sea, countryside and city living: the best of all worlds. Brighton is the one place I’ve loved enough to stay, and dare I say – settle.
As well as everything I mentioned above, I also love pretty independent magazines, punk and indie music, scary films, travelling, good food (did I mention food before?!) and wine with good company, staying up, lying in, 1980s Corey Feldman and tattoos.
Thanks again for stopping by, please say hello!
