This is actually a round up of about two weeks but here goes! I’ve been:
Getting out the sandals and flip flops: And putting away my winter boots. As I recently got a new wardrobe and had a clear out of old clothes it made sense to do the same with my shoes. So I not only threw out some old shoes (which were falling apart and so unsuitable for selling – but I did take them to one of those shoe recycling points) but also reorganised my current shoes. Hopefully I won’t need boots for a while so they’ve been packed away and sandals and flat pumps have moved to the front. I also bought new pair of shoes from New Look which I LOVE!
Trying to have a BBQ: We tried to have a BBQ on the first sunny (though admittedly slightly windy) Saturday but the disposable BBQ circa summer 2014 wouldn’t actually light. Do they have a use by date? So we had to revert to the kitchen to cook our burgers. But I still had a lovely few hours in the afternoon sun in the garden with a copy of Glamour magazine, Spotify tunes on my phone and a glass of bubbly. I look forward to many more Saturday afternoons and evenings spent like this!
Tested on my roller derby minimum skills: Which pretty much wiped me out for the rest of the day – and left me stiff and achy for days afterwards! But it actually went better than I thought it would and I’ve had constructive feedback which directs me on the stuff I need to work on. Can’t wait to get practising and improve further! Read more about the minimum skills here.
Making a new friend: If you follow me on Twitter on Instagram you can’t have missed this – I have another friend courtesy of Borrow My Doggy! His name is Dizzy and he’s a two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He’s lovely! I met him and his owner in a park and then agreed to look after him one day a week when I work from home. On my first day I had such a great time, he’s lovely company and very well behaved.
Sorry for the photo quality – he doesn’t stay still often and I had to zoom in as if I got closer he’d run towards me!
Giggling at stand up: Rob and I went to the Krater Comedy Club at Komedia as we had half price tickets – and had such a great time! I’ve been a few times before and it never fails to deliver a fun night out. I’ve never seen anyone I’d heard of before, but equally I’ve never seen anyone that didn’t make me laugh. The final comedian, Ninia Benjamin, in particular was very funny – very crude – but very funny. I’d recommend you check her out if you get the opportunity.
