On Wednesday I hosted the #lbloggers chat on Twitter, a twice weekly chat between lifestyle bloggers all over the world which is organised by @LbloggersChat. I chose the topic: blog marketing. I asked four questions around the topic using the hashtag #lbloggers – and although it was really fun, I was overwhelmed with tweets! I used Hootsuite to manage the chat and set up a new stream to track all the various conversations. The stream refreshed every two minutes in which time there’d be about 30 new responses! So apologies to anyone I didn’t get around to replying to – but I read all the comments and I really appreciate everyone taking part.
It seemed to be a successful chat, I got loads of great feedback and there was some brilliant advice flying around. So I thought I’d write a blog post sharing some of the best replies. So here are the top marketing tips for bloggers – by bloggers.
1. How do you promote your blog?

@KirstieLouiseS If you don’t have twitter you are missing out on SO much traffic.
@stylesunrise_ Set yourself realistic targets & don’t compare yourself to others 🙂
@serpentineshore My top bit of promotional advice would be don’t let the your stats bother you – your blog is more than the numbers who view it
@inkatiescorner My advice would be don’t get hung up on views. Have fun & try to get to know as many wonderful people as possible while doing so!
@reverielane Final word of advice: don’t make promotion your #1 priority. Focus on making your blog the best it can be! 🙂
