While watching Sunday Brunch with a cuppa at the weekend (standard Sunday position), I saw a section on a new type of exercise class called Animal Flow.
As a lover of exercise classes and group sports activities in particular, my ears perked up immediately. This class asks you to pull a number of moves and hold poses that represent different types of animals. Ridiculous? Quite possibly, but isn’t that half the fun of it? Some of my favourite exercise classes have been Zumba and step aerobics, and mostly because everyone makes a tit of themselves.
Apparently Animal Flow is a fusion of practices such as breakdancing, yoga and martial arts. You don’t use any weights but instead use your own body weight as a means to get stronger. Animal Flow is said to help with mobility, stability and core strength.
Anything that’s silly and that helps you to burn fat can only be a good thing.
Presenters of the show Simon and Tim helped to demonstrate different moves and poses, including Ape, Beast, Crab and Starfish.
I’d definitely be interested in giving it a go if I could find an exercise class near me!
Have you tried Animal Flow?
